This study is aimed at making a diagnosis and a gap analysis of the practices of leading Brazilian privately-owned banks to reduce the climate impact of their operations and to promote a low-carbon economy.

Brazilian State-owned Banks and Climate Change

The aim of this study is to make a gap analysis of policies and practices udertaken by Brazilian state-owned financial institutions and regional funds to reduce the climate impact of their operations and to promote the transition to a low carbon economy. The study analyzes initiatives and procedures that have already been implemented, as well as programs that are currently in development.

Public Policy Proposals by the Business Sector for a Low Carbon Economy in Brazil
 
The studies presented here aim to contribute to the debate on the challenges for the creation of a low-carbon economy in Brazil in some important economic sectors. The first study analyses the conditions for a low-carbon economy in energy, transportation and agriculture, and the second in industrial processes and waste treatment. These publications focus on the analyses and proposals of economic instruments, which are fundamental for creating the necessary conditions for a competitive Brazilian economy in the context of GHG emissions management.
